Girls Night

Girls Night "IN"
This is the invitation I made, well one of a dozen I made with my daughter for her sorority sisters. It was the last official meeting of the year, they elected new officers, (she is now VP) and were have one more outing with their brother fraternity...and then....Girls Night!

We had designed the invites, but neither of us could draw, so we were unsure what we would do for an image....then Tiddly Inks release "Party Time" and it was perfect, in style and name!!!

We added sorority and school colors to the image, music notes and music themed paper which are tribute to the sorority and the girls. Some stickles and shimmerz for a little sparkle and WOW! Love 'em! They were a great success!

They girls had a wonderful time...they were up giggling until 4am...I love it, I love that they can be so happy and enjoy being with each other that will always be music to my ears!

Isn't this cute little bear from Dustin Pike so adorable. To me he is day dreaming of a Dear Sweet Friend! So I had to add him to a card and share those thoughts with a friend too!

I used my Copics again, yea!! While they are still intimdating, I pledge to keep trying! For this fellow I used E 40 E70 E71 E74 E77 and B93 B95 B97 and C0.

I made the little dangle hanging from the ribbon, the silver bead reminder me of butterfly wings, matching the wings on the bear! I distressed the edges of the blue layer a bit, that was new for me...I like how it softened it and helps the layer tie in with the fade on the swirl paper...I mean the butterfly trail paper...(or are they Flutter~bear trails, LOL)
Finally I add a few teeny tiny brown pearls for a touch of sweetness.

Spring Collection

Well I over came my fears and I played with my Copics!
Every evening this week after work I could be found coloring on my TV tray, trying to be ever soooo careful and a little nervous! (Ok a lot nervous!)LOL

I fell in love with these adorable images from Bugaboo, I just couldn't resist them...I mean look at them, could you?!?!?! LOL
I started with the freebie, and added in the four others for the collection!

I decided to make them into a 4x4 note card set which I will be giving them to my dear mother in law!

I used a textured ivory paper for the base of the set of cards, then for each card I used a different paper from the Simply Delightful stack from My Mind's Eye. I used a pink polka dotted paper from the same stack as a base under each image to tie them together along with a sheer teal ribbon across the front for each card and the lid of the box.

Since I am giving this set as a gift to be used as note cards, I wanted to keep the embellishments simple and low key and flat, so they can be easily mailed.

Paper Cupcakes

Cute as a button and Zero Calories....Can't get any better then that girls!

A couple summers ago, while on vacation I found the cutest little cupcake in the cutest craft store. I wanted to but the cupcake, but it wasn't for sale. However, they were selling the template you use to create the 3D cupcake. I happily purchase one I was set on makeing my own! The template is by Hot off the Press.

Needless to say, that little ol template has sat tucked away in my craft room, waiting for it's turn to play. And it's turn has come this week! And WOW, I am I glad it did! It was so fun making these little cupcakes! They are actually 2 parts, the little holder and then a full cupcake. The top of the cupcake, folds over so it can be opened and closed, you can fill it with candy or put a gift it in if you are going to share your cupcakes with your friends!

I of course had tro bling out my cupcakes, I used some pearls, some glittery and sparkly gems on the holders. For the "cherry on top" feel, wanted to keep in the same color family, so I decide to use a large pearl brad on a silver base and added a filigree flower backing to give them a little more delicate feeling, maybe a little shabby chic...

Wicked Winter

Has your Winter Weather been as Wicked as Ours?

I Love Winter..I love the snow, the how beautiful the landscape is covered in white, how amazing the world looks transformed for a short time into a sparkling wonderland!

And then we have this year....

Thursday the forecast was for "Ice Pellets" I kid you not! Not snow, or rain or sleet, or hail or any of that mild stuff but literal ICE PELLETS!

When I was leaving work, half my car was encased in ice, luckily it was only half and I was able to retrieve my ice scrapper and De-icing spray, because silly me, I carry those in my car not my purse! I spent the next several minutes scrapping ice from the windows, and Yes, I was being pelted with ice falling from the sky all the while!

Last week I found this adorable image from Tiddly Inks, called "cast your spell" I knew I wanted to use her in some manner. I was thinking Ice Princess....Winter Wizard-ess.... Then Today's Winter Weather Forecast...and I am so not lying:

We woke up to a dense fog advisory 100% humidity

Which gave way to A Severe Thunderstorm Warning with Hail and strong damaging winds

We also have a developing Super Cell and a chance for a Tornado

Which should all be pushed out by a cold front and turn to snow over night

So now that you know that you know the story...I hope you enjoy my interpretation of darker side of winter and my "Wicked Winter"card.

Of course, she maybe the darker side, but she still has to shimmer and shine. From glitter paper to sparkling H20 on her dress and Shimmerz on her wings. I even blinged out her "magic"!!

It's Been Awhile....

Yes it's been awhile since I have posted on my blog. I guess you can say life change got in the way. Had to do a lot of readjusting and rearranging of my time and schedule....hopefully I have been able to work this out!

But all has not been lost! Oh No...I have been visiting a lot of my favorites sights, looking and lurking, and trying to be inspired. I have dabbled a little bit, collected a few trinkets, a new "tool" or two to play with....but haven't really had the time or energy to pull it all together, create something wonderful and share it.

I made a promise to myself to allow myself time to be creative. Even if I don't finish a project, I find the time I spend using "the other side of my brain" is very relaxing and refreshing.

Hopefully I will find some inspiring challenges to keep me motivated and creating!

It's time for another Challenge at Sew Many Challenges!

This week's challenge is to make a Card for a male, young or old....

This week I was able to play with this great image from our lovely sponsor...KLM Designs! For my card I used "Get Well Bear"...Poor little thing isn't feeling to well....but is so sweet!

I used shades of brown for the card and the little teddy....My Mind's Eye paper and card stock. I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and mineral spirits and I very carefully applied some diamond glaze to the thermometer!!! His feet are layered to pop out from under his blankie! I sure hope he gets to feeling better soon! Don't you...

To me this little plane was all about being a boy....so I had to work out of my comfortable little box and think "B O Y".....I am telling you, it is hard for me to work in these colors....LOL I did have fun trying to design something different....and I even like how it turned out!

I made this card to play along with this weeks challenge over at Totally Papercraft! The theme of this Challenge is "Lots of Spots"! AND is being sponsored by Sew Many Cards!!!

LOL...I sure had fun trying to load my card with SPOTS! I decided to use this darling image from Sew Many Cards, not only because Zee is so cute....but because there are spots on the moon!! (Holes are spots...right?!?!) LOL

I started with a purple and white dotted paper, then layered another paper with colored spots...a stripe of pink card stock I embossed with spots & dots, added a spotted ribbon...and of course I had to finish with lots of Mini-Bling spots!!!

My Hubby Is My Knight in Shining Armor!

So...how fitting is this darling Dragon from Dustin Pike! Once I saw it I knew I was going to use it for my Hubby's card! I dressed it up for Valentine's day with a few sentiments from the Cutting Cafe, one on his banner and one on his shield...and the L O V E across the top!

I colored this card with Prismacolors, some paper from my stash, I just love the purple paper...and the green, has a faint heart pattern on it. I don't count the shiny spots as bling....they are metal dots and I refer to them as "studs" since this is a "manly" card....LOL...My DD did not agree with me... The studs are blue and silver. I popped the "love" and the other sentiments up with foam glue dots.

Overall I like how it turned out, I feel like it is a fun and playful card. Kinda like us!

Isn't He Adorable!!!

I received this sweet image from Karen's Doodles during her recent Follower Freebie! Karen generously gave each of her followers an image of OUR Choice!! How cool is that!! But I have to tell you the hardest part was picking which ONE!!!! If you have not visited her blog yet...and you like Cute, Sweet, fun and Adorable.....You need to!!!

This image is called "I Didn't Do It". LOLOLOL...I love the look on the Dog's face...he is so Happy to see you....even with a part of the pillow hanging from his face!!! How could you be mad?!?!? I couldn't....

I really enjoyed making this card...I colored the pillow to match the paper, put little...I mean teenie tiny, silver beard on his collar for studs...lol...added a couple very fitting, if I may say so, feather charms to the bow and a few coordinating "skittle"/Dew Drops.

I knew I wanted to do something with this image from Digital Delights when I saw it...I just wasn't sure what! So after printing it out and looking at it for 2 days, I decided on this background paper. Well if you can call it paper...it feels like a thin felt...but it had these great Silver Swirls on it that I loves for this image of Loving Cupid.

After I decide on the paper the rest was easy....I colored the image, added these great little conversation hearts form the Cutting Cafe...layered them on a mat sliver square, then light blue, then a shiny/mirror silver. I tied a ribbon/cord around the middle one and added a tiny little heart charm to it...I really like that! I knotted some more of the ribbon/cord and sandwiched it between the tiles for the conversation hearts...some stickles on the arrow, some shimmerz on his wings...a touch of bling and there you have it!

It's Challenge Time!

For this challenge I combined a Sew Many Cards image, Eris with a Cutting Cafe Image, Truly...Madly...Deeply.... I love both the images, Best Part, there is a song by Savage Garden, Truly Madly Deeply, which is "our song"....so this was perfect for me!!

The hardest part I faced with this challenge was my background paper...I had a paper in mind, but it was black and white....I wanted to try only using black and red for the back ground! So I punched the edge of the paper for some detail, embellished around the punch and added the silver ribbon. I popped up the cheeks and trunk on Eris for a little depth and painted her toes to show off her little sassy attitude! LOL

When I colored this image, I didn't want to do the typical yellow rain coat. I wanted to try something different, maybe unexpected....so I colored her rain coat Purple! I love purple...what can I say!!! LOL I found a few blue and purple papers that I added under the image...Some flowers, because with April Showers....you get May Flowers!!! I added Diamond Glaze to the puddle to give it a wet appearance. I put Pop Dots under the APRIL to lift the drops off the card a bit, and I added a second layer to the umbrella for it to pop off the card too!

For this color challenge, I used the adorable Jaden. Jaden has a little butterfly visiting!! I thought the yellow of Jaden would blend nicely with the Challenge of using Purple, White and a splash of Black..almost like a spring flower! I embellished my card with a sheer black polka dotted ribbon, a cute little butterfly charm and stitching around my image!

Let me tell you that was scary! After I, unburied my sewing machine, blew off all the dust...found some thread....I put the paper to the metal!! LOL It is not perfect, the last side stitched could have been better, but it is unique...right?!?!? I finished up with some stickles and a bit of Shimmerz on the butterfly and flowers!

For My Project, I made a card with this absolutely adorable hummingbird image. This was actually a special request I had made to Angela, and being the Sweetheart she is, she drew this beautiful bird for me!!

I colored the image with Prismacolors and Gamsol, and then put a layer of my new Shimmerz on top of the colored pencil. I picked the background papers from the colors of the hummingbird. Added a few Cricut Cuts, and a little Stickles in the center of the flowers. I tried something new...Iembossed the center of the flowers and the petals, along with the leaf to give them some lift. I rubbed/embossed the edge of the wing and tail, and edge of the flower, causing then to lift and curl a bit.

The Introduction of New Characters!

Allow me to share with you this Adorable Bunny, named Jovi!

She is all ready for Spring and to Celebrate with you!

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and added flock to Jovi. I layered her feet and the eggs to make them pop! I put a little diamond glaze on her eyes to give them some depth. Next I highlighted the eggs and patches with stickles for some shimmer and shine...and just a bit on her eyelids...After all she is a Rock Star!

For the background, I picked this crazy zigzag paper because it reminded me of a colored egg! I layered it with solid papers to carry on the stripped egg feel. I added some big bling flowers to give it a springy touch to this card.

Shades of Splendor!

We were able to pick our favorite color and then use it in three shades to complete the card front.
So of course I used Purple! I Love Love Love Purple!
I actually had the printed paper in my stash, and it's design is shades of purple! I layered it on purple cardstock, but I thought the colors blended too well, so I inked the edges of the printed paper with plum ink and then layered them. I added a dark purple velvet ribbon across the front and topped it off with lavender foam balls.
There is enough space on the side where a sentiment can be added later, or it can be left as is for a bit of an elegant feel.
I like how they turned out, tell me what you think!

Make A Wish

This card was made for a young lady turning 15. Since she has a December Birthday, I wanted to make her a winter theme card. I picked papers with a muted color, to feel more grown up and sophisticated. The image is a digital stamp, colored to with match the papers. "Make a Wish" is stamped in brown on green paper. I finished it off with a bow, and some Bling for the buttons on her jacket and the snowman hat. I embossed the falling snow and added diamond glaze to the snowman's buttons, eyes and mouth.

The possibilities are endless....this can be given to a special child who passed a test they have been dreading, or the teenager who received her license, or a co-worker who completed a big project...or a dear friend who has made it through a tough week....see endless!

Randa, the designer for Doodle Beans, has some freebies on the site too....I cut out the elephant and put it on one of the background freebies to create this card. I colored both with Prismacolors and Gamsol, added some stickles on a few of the stars and the stripe of the ball, layered the image and printed the words from my PC (Word).

Just wanted to share with you a project my daughter and I have been working on...

These started off as clear glass ornaments from the craft store. And with the Magic of "Glitter and Bling" we were able to transform them into these beautiful little keepsakes!

Each one was designed with a particular person in mind, wich made this project so much fun. We out a lot of thought into picking the right colors, adding bling and finding the perfect ribbon!

Hopefully when they are received, everyone will feel that they received a gift that was made especially for them!

For this week's freebie, I decided to color the candy canes in Pink and Black. I like the contrast in the colors, because of that, I wanted to keep the background simple. I colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I put a bit of Stickles in the center of the holly in pink. I tied a shear ribbon around the card front with a little gem in the center....and in my world everything sparkles....even candy canes!!! So I "Blinged" mine....LOL

No Matter how you say it~ It is RED
This week's Challenge over at Sew Many Cards is RED and only red!
Your image can be what ever colors you choose, however all you background colors and embellishments can only be RED!

So show us how creative are you!! What can you do in a monochromatic world?!?

I chose the Winter Bonus Ornament for my image, I have been wanting to play with this one since I seen it!

I used paper piecing to adorn the ornament. I started by cutting several leaves of the poinsettia in card stock and vellum. I thought this would give the leaves a little depth. The center is a group of beads and glitter. The green leaves on the ornament are also paper piecing, cut out of green paper and then darkened with color pencils, and a bit of glitter down the middle. The patch is cut from vellum.
The body of the ornament is covered in tiny glass beads, and then a light dusting of MS glitter.
For the background I used three different reds. A card stock, a metallic, and vellum. I ran the vellum thought the cuttlebug and cut it into strips. The strips were attached to the metallic paper, and then to the card stock. I added a thin "fringed" red ribbon across the top of the card, so I could hang the ornament. The hook is made from Wild Wire.

I used the Friday Freebie "Fiesta" Tree to make a gift tag! I colored it with Primaccolor pencils and gamsol. I added Stickles to the patches, some "Sparkle Yarn" I had in my stash from long ago.., for trimming and the tag hanger.....But it was missing something....GLITTER!...of course, so I added some MS glitter to the middle of the sparkle yarn.
I sandwiched the yarn with another tree cut out and printed with Merry Christmas, To & From on the back.....So what do you think?

Sew Many Cards ~ Challenge 16

This week's Challenge over at Sew Many Cards is WINTER

OK, we all know by now that I LOVE WINTER!!! My first thought was snowflakes, or snowmen....But when I started looking at Angela's DigiStamps, I swear PJ was jumping up and down, begging to be picked for my card! How could I resist?

I thought of him gliding (skating) across a frozen pond....something I did only once as a child...It was scary! I do wish I could be a graceful skater...but, yeah...no! LOL

Thank goodness we have PJ, a graceful glider on the ice....inviting you to step on to the ice and take a spin around the pond for some good old Winter Fun!

PJ was colored with Prismacolors and Gamsol. The trees were cut on the Cricut with the Winter Woodland cartridge. The pond is an overlay of vellum, the edge of the pond and the trees are coated in Twinket's Diamond Dust from HL.

Snowflakes!

Have I mentioned that I LOVE Winter! And Snowflakes....I find them to be so beautiful! I love how snow sparkles....it's like natures has sprinkled it with glitter!

For my snowflake I tried to capture a bit of the delicate beauty and sparkle of a snowflake. I layered vellum paper and a blue shimmery paper to form my snowflake. a band of shear ribbon across the front to keep it light, and a few "snowballs" that are covered in glitter on the ribbon. Also I topped off the snowflake with a few crystals to make it sparkle.

The snowflake layers were cut with my cricut and the Accent Essentials cartridge, the word "winter" was cut from the Blackletter cartridge, once in blue then again in the vellum. I cut off a portion the vellum letters and layered them on the blue. The background was embossed the D'Vine Swirls folder and the cuttle bug.

Isn't Winter Beautiful!

Sew Many Cards ~ Challenge 15

Our challenge this week was Technique: Accordion Card.

This can also be called fan fold...that is what I am calling it..."Frosty Fan Fold" LOL

I followed the directions on split coast stampers, using my scorepal.

The adorable snowman is from , Sew Many Cards, the snowflake and "brrrr" were cut with my cricut and the Winter Woodland cartridge.

Some glitter here, some stickles there...a bit of bling and a few "snowballs" and TaDa it's Winter!!!

*** For those who want to know how I made this card...here you go!

I used the Stair Step Fold instructions from SCS .

The Snow Man is a digi stamp from Sew Many Cards. I colored him with Prismacolor Pencils on his hat, nose and around the outside of his body for a shadow. I used silver stickles on his patches and to trim his hat. I put a drop of Diamond Glaze on each eye and traced his mouth too. Once all that was dry, I painted him with glue and applied glitter to the entire body.

The Snowflake was cut with design studio and from the Winter Woodlands cartridge, I cut 2 one 3" tall on the DS Mat and the other 3 3/4" on the DS Mat.

"Brrrr" was 1 3/4" tall on the DS Mat and I cut the shadow for "Brrrr" I cut a strip of the blue paper and punched it with the MS Dripp Goo Punch and placed it on the fist layer behind the "Brrr"

The mounds of snow on the 2nd layer were cut free hand, I ran white paper through the cuttlebug with the D'Vine Swirls folder. I put glue on the edges and sprinkled some "snow" on them. I can't tell you what this is, I just had a baggie of it and wanted to use it! I think it is "snow" that you can decorate a table with or around a tree.

I finished off my card by adding bling...Silver beads on "Brrr", a crystal snowflake in the middle of the snowflakes and white glitter domes (I call them snowballs, from HL) on the points and a few on the front of the card.

For my card, I used a combination of Prismacolor pencils and markers for the cactus. I added stickles to the lights to make them sparkle and flower soft to the hat and snow for some texture. Finished with ribbon and embellishments along the side for added color.

Nontraditional Christmas Colors!! So of course PURPLE!!! I found this dotted purple paper and knew I wanted to us it....but with what? I next found a paper with Christmas postage stamps in a variety of "faded", vintage colors in Purple, burgundy, cream and green. I decided on a background from the red family to match the printed "stamp" paper. I didn't want the colors to look too "Red Hat Society" so I trimmed the cut pieces in a metallic brown. A gold bell and some purple skittles to finish it off!!! Purple, Burgundy and Brown....Nontraditional!

This weeks Challenge is to use Brown, Green & Orange Only!!!!

You can use any image, and color it as you like, but when you put your project together, use Brown, Green and Orange!

I picked this adorable digi stamp of Tayla playing in a pumpkin patch!

Colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and added some ultra fine glitter. I embossed a panel with pumpkins, tied a ribbon around it and finished it with a little leaf. Finally I added three leaves in orange, brown and green to the opposite side...Hope you like it!

Sew Many Cards Challenge 12 ~ ..... With A Bow

This Weeks Challenge was to make a Christmas project with a Bow.
The bow could be tied and added, drawn and colored or even a pattern on some paper!
I chose to use Morty for my image, I dunno, there is something about him holding that list...trying to look innocent, yet you can tell he wants to explain something.....So I added the message..."Dear Santa, I can Explain.......Morty"
I colored the image with Prismacolors Pencils and Gamsol, then I cut it out and put him on a cream colored background. I added ivory Flower-soft to his hat to give a fluffy feel. The bow I made from some sheer black ribbon and secured it with a brad. I also added brads along the sides of the card. The paper is all from a pack called Magic of the Season. So what do you think? Don't you just want to hop over to Sew Many Cards and get an image for your self to play with?!?!

Masculine! A masculine Thinking of You or Birthday....
YIKES!!!....This is different for me! I LOVE my BLING and ribbon....but of course those were out...What was I going to do?!?! LOL
I finally did put together a masculine card...no bling, no ribbon....instead, I used leather and rope for the ribbon and eyelets for the bling!!! What do you think? Does it work???
I stamped "Make a Wish" on a paper with a wood plank look. The card front bottom is a "blue jean" paper and the top is a distressed stripped paper.

Twilight Swap

My Daughter LOVES....this saga! So, for her , I joined this swap,I thought she would enjoy receiving the rewards for my labor....lol....Really, I knew she would love everything! So, I signed up....then I panicked....what in the world was I going to make??? Not a clue....I better read the book!
I did mention I like to craft in various forms....I know there are many for me to try....but one other craft I enjoy is beading, well for me it's making bracelets.....Since there is a bracelet in the story...I wanted to make my version of Bella's Bracelet. This is it....My Dear Daughter says it is great! What a wonderful child!

"Thinking of You" or "Just a Note"
I decided on "Just a Note"...My Daughter has been in Band and LOVES her music, so I have a few stamps related to music! I also had a "just a note stamp"...and the music note background paper...Perfect, right?!?!?!

How Cute are these girls! OMG....I can just hear them now.."Hey Girlfriend"..."You Go Girl!"
LOL....When I saw this stamp, from art Impressions, I knew I just had to make a card for a dear friend of mine. Just so happens...she had a special day coming up! I wanted something Cool, Sassy...and Fun! Colored using the MCPT, layered with blue to pop the image off the background paper...a few pearls to add some bling and I think these girls are just the ticket!

Friendship! That is the theme for July!!! I wanted to do some thing a bit different with the word friendship. Nowadays your Best Friend is known as your "BESTIE" or even your "BFF". So, to be Cool and Trendy....or because I use the term daily...I chose to make a BFF card!
I picked out a flower print paper in bold colors on a white background. I cut the little frames from the Cricut Storybook cartridge in DS and I made a second cut in DS to create the bottom of the card on a coordinating striped paper. A third cut (frame) was made with white card stock, and "BFF" (storybook) was applied to it and then the card. Joy Fold Card

I was able to participate in a Wish RAK and wanted to send a nice card along! I had seen these cards posted on the Cricut Message board and was intrigued by them...I just knew this would be the perfect type of card to send. My "wisher" likes her colors deep, dark and rich.... and I loved the hint of sparkle in this paper....I found the perfect brads in my stash....and...well...here you have it....my first and only (so far) Joy Fold Card! By the way, it was loved by my "wisher"!!

June's theme was Thank you! Oh there are so many ways to say Thanks! I started with this pink paper with a brown dot pattern that was faded along the edges...I really like the paper, I paired it with the brown, and picked this blue to keep it soft...like the faded edges. Friendship Card

Shoebox Swap Round 3....During this swap, one of the very talented ladies created "badge" of sorts for us. This icon was added to our signature line on the Cricut Message board. One of the items to be placed in the box was a "friendship" card. I decided to use our icon for my card...so my swap partner would always remember the fun we had! My favorite part of making this part was "lacing" the shoe...

Father's Day

Well "Dad" also know as DH, had been wanting a fish tank for some time. So for Father's Day, the kids and I finally got one for him. Now this is a more complicated gift then you would think...1) how were we going to wrap it? It was a 36 gallon monster. (we kept it in the back of my car) 2) how were we going to get it in the house...tank and stand and all the fishy stuff you need...and then 3) what kind of fish did he want or need. I knew nothing about starting a tank!
Afraid that he would "find" the tank in my car, we decide to give it to him a week early! He was surprised! Good thing we did...there is a lot to setting up a tank to keep it and the fish healthy!
We had gotten him a book also and proceeded to get the tank ready for fish. Then you could not add just any fish....there are certain fish ,starter fish, that can survive the chemical changes a new tank has to cycle through. So...On Father's Day, we gave dad this card, with a "shopping pass" to get his fish for his new tank.....the fish on the card are Red Swordtails, the are Strong enough to survive the cycling of the tank and are the ones DH wanted.....the card shows his tank with fish!

Floral was the them for May... I made a couple different color combos for this swap, My DD wanted to pick colors and she inked around the images that I colored with the MCPT. We used glittery paper with a flower print for added sparkle and to follow the theme, The Stamp is a Suzy's Zoo Stamp, called Suzy's Daisy. I can not find the pictures I took, but I was able to get the picture the hostess took.

I love my MIL...She is an amazing, loving, wonderful woman. From the day I met her, she embraced me as one of her own and has made me feel very much a part of her family! She has an extraordinary..slightly wicked...sense of humor...she can make a teenage blush! But she does so in a sophisticated, witty manner...by the time they pick up on the underlying meaning...they are blushing...she will just chuckle and walk away...LOL The inside of this cards reads "Today may you know the Love and Joy you bring to our Family. Tungsten

Let's see what I can remember about Tungsten..
My DD had to make a mole, yes a mole for a school project. Parents were encouraged to help and received a paper pattern to construct this mole...WHAT?!?!?! I don't know anything about moles....
Why a MOLE, because the strength of chemicals are measures in moles....Our mole has to represent TUNGSTEN....what is that?!?!?!
...so you know the little wire thing between the two posts in a lightbulb...Yea....that's Tungsten.
So our mole has a light bulb nose...it really works!
And did you know that your Pyrex glassware contains Tungsten because it has the highest melting point of any element! So our mole received sunglasses!
You maybe wondering why our mole is wearing a cape....well, Tungsten is used to create Super Alloys...so we have a Super Hero Cape.
If you wondering about the fancy necklace our mole is sporting, it has a two-fold purpose. First it is the chemical symbol and atomic number of Tungsten...and...Tungsen is currently used in jewelry making.

So now you know as much about Tungsten as I do!

Giraffe

ooohhhh...I just loved this paper, I had to get it....Now that I had it what was I going to use it for. I actually found a "coloring book: image on the Internet of the is giraffe ...perfect! I colored it with the MCPT, I embossed a piece of green paper with the cuttlebug, and cut it into panels. A little bit of bling and it's done!

(which really isn't that much) When he was finished he said to me "I will never again make fun off all your paper, I now understand why you need it all"....awww the words every crafter longs to hear...they understand!

Mickey ~ Minnie & Daisy

I wanted to try the Micky Cartridge, so I made a Mickey, Minnie and Daisy....Not to bad....now what was I to do with them? Since I actually like how they turned out, they needed a place to "live". So I made a few mini cards with the gals and a regular size card with Mickey...added some stickers to dress them up and VIOLA!...I'm done!

Butterfly Vellum

These two cards are made with this beautiful, colored butterfly vellum paper I found. I made a set of six, half with a simple blue flower and half with a simple purple flower. I didn't want to hide too much of the paper, but on the other hand I didn't want the flower to appear to small...and I added some sparkly metallic ribbon to ground the flower. It is simple, but I think it gives your eye a lot to look at...is it TOO simple?

MCPT Challenge

Today I thought it would be good to add some pictures of items I have created.

I love Fall so this card is a favorite of mine! I made it for a challenge on the cricut message board. The challenge is to use the Magic Colored Pencil Technique. For anyone who does not know what this is, you use a combination of color pencils and mineral spirits (gamsol) to color a stamped image. It is actually a lot of fun! For this challenge, everyone receives the same image, and you post your creation on the board. It is very interesting to see how different every one's designs can be! For this challenge I actually created two designs from the image...what do you think?

I have to say, I never thought I would have a blog! It's not that I don't have anything to say...I have been known to speak my mind...lol....It's just I have always been on the shy side and I take the opinions of others seriously. So, to put myself out here for the world to see, is well, a little scary!

Why Paper Palace? I work mostly with paper... And ...Because I am a Princess....Aren't we all?!?!? I think it is an attitude thing, but it has stuck with me...lol...Now that I am "all grown up" I chose not to be the Queen, I tell my daughter it is because a Princess has all the perks and none of the responsibility. {Insert teenager eye roll here!} We have a lot of fun with it, when my kids were younger, one had gotten in trouble...that is when I received the nickname Princess Vader! LOL I use this as my Geo-Caching name. My Hubby wanted to know why I didn't name my blog Princess Vader...I told him I didn't want to scare people away!

I created this blog so I would have place to share what I create with friends. I enjoy visiting and being inspired by other blogs. One of my goals is to list these wonderful places so those who visit me can hop on over and visit them too!
